Hello! How are you doing today, friends? Here is a quick, one night read, I want to share with you. If you read my previous post, you know that I have just given up on The Luxe series, which was something, that left me feel sad, because I hate to walk away from the characters, but my reasons are explained here (if you care to read). The only way I know to get over bad book, is to read another book, the one I know I will enjoy with guaranteed happy ending. In other words- detoxing my polluted bookworm mind. Usually I may go for either Nora Roberts or Mills and Boon. Mills and Boon is awesome, because, “and they lived happily ever after” is 100% guaranteed, no matter how annoying the way to that ending is going to be. If you are not a romantic at heart and crave the read that makes you think or question important “stuff” this book, or the whole Mills and Boon may not be for you. But if you are like me, and love cheesy chick-lit, I bet you have few Mills and Boon books in your collection. So now about this book:
She works in animal sanctuary, he is a millionaire. They meet by accident (literally). Luiz is the most interesting man Holly has ever met, and she is a breath of fresh air for rich businessman. After one year of passionate affair he walks away, because Holly is looking for something more, something he is not willing to give- a commitment. But Holly finds herself pregnant and reaches out to him to inform of the baby he has fathered. Holly is not looking for anything, but Luiz is of traditional family and will not allow his child to be born out of wedlock…
This book was very easy to read. I liked both characters and the setting was lovely. Of course I loved the passion between characters and predictable ending. My only complain to the author would be the skipped time. For example on the first night he met Holly, Luiz decided, that she will become his lover. Next thing we know-year has passed. It’s almost as if the author was too lazy to develop their relationship and explain in detail the tension building up, to the first lovemaking. For me this was most negative part of the book. The year of passionate relationship and lies felt too long time for me. Now once I got negative aspect out of the way, I must mention the positive one- delicious lovemaking scenes and passionate intimacy during pregnancy- for adults only. I think this is the first book I ever read, that uses quote- “Pregnant is sexy”. I absolutely loved those moments when author described Luiz’s emotions watching Holly’s rounded belly and marvelling at miracle of the new life they both created. I can’t say, that it was a perfect read, but this story was a good “bounce back to romance” material, which is exactly what I was looking for.
If you are interested in this story and other’s like this, you can buy this book which contains three stories about romance and pregnancy.
Hope you enjoyed this post. Thanks for reading.
